History and branches
Projects save as you work. The History panel lets you go back to an earlier version, or branch off to try a different pinout without losing the one you have.
Autosave
Every change is saved in this browser automatically. The status reads “Saving changes…” and then “All changes saved”. If a save fails, you see “The last change could not be saved.” and can retry.
Versions
Open the sidebar to see History. Each entry says only what the record supports:
- Initial version, when the project was created.
- Automatic version, saved as you edit.
- Restored version, created when you restore an earlier one.
History doesn’t describe what changed between two versions, and comparing two versions isn’t built yet.
Restore an earlier version
Select a version and choose to replace the working copy with it. Restoring adds a new version on top; nothing in between is deleted, so you can restore your way back.
Branches
Select a version and start a new branch there, then give the branch a name. Use the branch filter at the top of History to show one branch or all of them.
Only one browser tab can edit a branch at a time. Another tab opens it read-only and says so.
Where it’s stored
History lives in this browser’s storage on this device, and nowhere else. Clearing the site’s data removes it. To keep a project safe or move it to another machine, export it as JSON.
